Joan Announces Endorsement by EMILY’s List

”I am honored to have the endorsement of EMILY’s List in my race for the 67th House district.  This organization is made up of women across the country who know how important it is to have women at the table when decisions are made, and I am proud to join the long list of successful women candidates who have been supported by EMILY’s List,” Joan said.

EMILY’s List is one of the nation’s largest political action committees and financial resources for women running for elective office. EMILY’s List has extended its support to Joan through the Political Opportunity Program, an initiative to mobilize, train, and financially support candidates running at the state and local levels.

“We have been impressed with Joan’s commitment to women’s health issues and family issues.  Her work with families and small business owners in the community prepares her to be an active voice the 67th District and St. Louis,” said Susan Markham, deputy political director at EMILY’s List.

SENATOR MAIDA COLEMAN ENDORSES JOAN
SENATE MINORITY FLOOR LEADER CITES JOAN'S FOCUS ON VOTERS

Senator Maida Coleman, the Missouri Senate Minority Floor Leader, announced today her endorsement of Joan Landmann in the race for the open seat in Missouri House District 67.

"I recognize Joan Landmann is the candidate in this race for the House seat in the 67th who will be a voice for the values and interests of the residents of this district, as well as the citizens of Missouri," said Senator Coleman.  "Joan's experience as an advocate for people has proven she will work hard for you in Jefferson City on issues such as public education and healthcare.  It is telling that Joan, in a very unique way, has run a grassroots campaign that has not been bought by special interests and political machines. She has concentrated her efforts on you, the voter.  She knows this is where her responsibility is and this is where her allegiance will remain."

Community Leaders Announce Their Endorsement of Joan Landmann

"Joan Landmann hasn't just talked the talk; she's walked the walk. She's been a tireless volunteer for organizations supporting a woman's right to choose. Joan understands that the right to choose is about women's civil rights and that when Missouri tries to take away a woman's decision about her own body, it's trying to take from her ability to control her own destiny. In Jefferson City, Joan will be a forceful advocate for civil rights and civil liberties for all the people. She understands that the proper role of government is to protect the people's liberties, not to squelch them."
-Rev. B.T. Rice, New Horizon Seventh Day Christian Church

"We are pleased to endorse Joan Landmann as a 100% pro-choice candidate, and it is especially great to know that our endorsement in my home district might help to elect NARAL's volunteer of the year," said NARAL Executive Director Pamela Sumners. "We are really excited to have qualified pro-choice candidates as dedicated as Joan to support. We know she'll fight for us in Jefferson City."
